Personal Statement
I came to know Jesus Christ as my personal Savior and Lord as a nine year old boy. I thank God for good Christian parents and grandparents who taught me about Christ and His love for me. Through the influence of family and the local church, my faith in Christ continued to grow and deepen.
During my years in college, I drifted out of God’s will and His plan for my life. He used my disobedience to teach me many lessons, one of which is the importance of abiding in Him. Jesus said in John 15:5, “I am the vine; you are the branches. If anyone abides in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from Me you can do nothing.”
The day I accepted God’s call into the ministry, I stood before my church family and told them that all I wanted to do is to boldly preach the Word of God. That conviction and passion to preach God’s Word continued to increase during my studies at Southeastern. I have a strong desire to see the lost come to a saving knowledge of Christ and to see church members discipled. I consider it a tremendous honor to serve our Lord Jesus Christ and share Him with a lost world.
I am married to a wonderful Christian lady who completely supports me and the calling that God has given our family. We have been blessed with three wonderful children who are also very supportive. Our family is committed to following God’s will and to serving the One who has blessed us so abundantly.
Chad is married to Heather Bullard and they have four sons, Will, Samuel, Benjamin, and J.D. He is also instrumental in teaching and being a mentor to our College and Young Adults Group and leading them in foreign missions.
Cameron is a graduate of North Carolina State University and is the Director of Operations at New Life Camp in Raleigh, North Carolina.
Will graduated from the University of Richmond with a BA in Sociology and Religion, and received his MRE from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas. Will completed his DMin at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Wake Forest, North Carolina.
Prior to coming to Bay Leaf in 1992, Will served in the following places of ministry.
• James River Baptist Church in Williamsburg, Virginia
• Monumental Baptist Church in Petersburg, Virginia
• Indian Hills Baptist Church in Grand Prairie, Texas
• First Baptist Church in Suffolk, Virginia
The theme verse of Will’s ministry has been Colossians 1:28, “…teaching every man with all wisdom.” The Lord calls, and there is no greater joy than to know that you are serving in the center of His will.
If God has gifted and called you in the area of music and worship, we'd love to talk to you about how to become involved in serving the "Audience of One." Our prayer is that you will find a place to serve with your whole heart.
Prior to coming to Bay Leaf in 2010, Don & Sandra served as IMB missionaries in Thailand. Before that, Don served as minister of music at churches in New York, Japan, and Raleigh for over 35 years, while working for IBM.
In addition to serving senior adults at Bay Leaf, Don also leads the Bay Leaf Orchestra, and writes music for the orchestra and choir.
“Whatsover thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might” Ecc. 9:10
Billy received his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of West Florida in Criminal Justice. After living in Pensacola for eight years, Billy and Sonia moved to Wake Forest to attend Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary, which he graduated from in December 2010 with a Master of Divinity degree. Billy has served in the College and Young Adults ministry at Bay Leaf since 2007 in the following areas: teaching the college Sunday School class, director of small group ministry, as well as several mission trips (Manchester U.K., Poland, Turkey).
Billy has a heart for college students and young adults, desiring to see them grow in their relationship with Christ as they love God and love others.
Before moving to Wake Forest, Mark served in the Awana Clubs as a Leader and Commander at Peniel Baptist Church in Palatka, Florida. Furthermore, prior to joining the ministry at Bay Leaf he served as a Deacon, Sunday School teacher, and Awana Commander at Wake Cross Roads Baptist Church in Raleigh, NC.
Mark’s desire is to reach the lost, disciple the believer, and minister to the body of Christ. He strongly believes that the children are not only the future of the church, but they are a vital part of the church today. Therefore, he has a passion to reach the children with the Gospel of Christ and prepare them to serve Him.
Program Directors
Eva and Scott joined Bay Leaf in 1996 where Eva served in the following ministries: Mission Friends, adult and preschool Sunday school, Vacation Bible School, Awana, and various other committees. In January 2003, Eva was able to continue her love of working with children by becoming the director of Little Lambs Learning Center. As the director, Eva’s desire is to provide a strong Christian weekday education program for the members of Bay Leaf and the surrounding community. She believes that children are never too young to begin learning the “good news” of Jesus Christ and how much God loves them. Her goals are to fill the preschool hall with children during the week, teach them about Jesus, and minister to the teachers and families involved with the weekday program.
Through the years, Jeff has served Bay Leaf by volunteering with the youth program and the college and young adult ministry. He has also taught Sunday School and participated on over 10 international mission trips.
Currently Jeff is serving as Activities Director. Through the Activities Ministry at Bay Leaf, Jeff desires to create an atmosphere where our members are encouraged to reach people with the Gospel that struggle to find their way to Sunday morning worship and Bible study. In the end, basketball, softball, sports camps, golf, aerobics, and Pilates exist that we would honor God with our bodies.
1 Thessalonians 2:8 - So, being affectionately desirous of you, we were ready to share with you not only the gospel of God but also our own selves, because you had become very dear to us.
