I came to know Jesus Christ as my personal Savior and Lord as a nine year old boy. I thank God for good Christian parents and grandparents who taught me about Christ and His love for me. Through the influence of family and the local church, my faith in Christ continued to grow and deepen.
During my years in college, I drifted out of God’s will and His plan for my life. He used my disobedience to teach me many lessons, one of which is the importance of abiding in Him. Jesus said in John 15:5, “I am the vine; you are the branches. If anyone abides in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from Me you can do nothing.”
The day I accepted God’s call into the ministry, I stood before my church family and told them that all I wanted to do is to boldly preach the Word of God. That conviction and passion to preach God’s Word continued to increase during my studies at Southeastern. I have a strong desire to see the lost come to a saving knowledge of Christ and to see church members discipled. I consider it a tremendous honor to serve our Lord Jesus Christ and share Him with a lost world.
I am married to a wonderful Christian lady who completely supports me and the calling that God has given our family. We have been blessed with three wonderful children who are also very supportive. Our family is committed to following God’s will and to serving the One who has blessed us so abundantly.

Rev. Andy Madsen
Associate Pastor / Music
Worship is at the heart of our music ministry. Our desire is to provide opportunities for encountering God through personal and community worship.
Involvement in the music and worship ministry revolves around three things:
- Attitude - Availability - Ability -
If God has gifted and called you in the area of music and worship, we'd love to talk to you about how to become involved in serving the "Audience of One." Our prayer is that you will find a place to serve with your whole heart.
Associate Pastor / Students & Families
Lyle came on staff in March of 2014. A Florida native, he left his previous position in the college ministry at Idlewild Baptist Church in Tampa, FL and moved to Wake Forest, NC to finish his Masters degree at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary.
He grew up in a great family and lived and breathed sports. His goal was to earn an athletic scholarship and play somewhere in college. But in his senior year of high school he broke his foot and was sidelined for most of the season. It was during that time that God began to do a work in his heart and he began to explore the faith. A friend challenged him about the claims of Christ and he would later trust in Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior.
Lyle would continue to pursue sports in college after his injury and made the team as a walk on at Florida College- a small private school. His team would go on to win the USCAA National Championship and he eventually earned an Athletic scholarship to the University of Nebraska at Omaha where he received his Bachelors Degree in Organization Sociology and Business Management. At the University of Nebraska at Omaha he would become an All-Conference baseball player, a team captain, be named to the Commissioners All Academic Honor Roll and received All Academic honors.
After graduation, God led him into Youth Ministry at Kings Avenue Baptist Church where he served bi-vocationally for five years. He would then go on to serve a year as a college ministry assistant at Idlewild Baptist Church in Tampa, FL.
Lyle has a heart for missions; he has been to the Dominican Republic, India, Israel, and multiple locations in North America. He also has a passion for life and enjoys baseball, basketball, rock climbing, hiking, camping, snowboarding, and exploring the world.
