In the book of 1st Corinthians the apostle Paul addresses issues that arose in the church in Corinth and that arise in churches today. There was division among believers rather than unity in Christ. Flagrant and unrepented immorality was tolerated by church members. Many were using the Holy Spirit’s gifts to exalt themselves instead glorifying God. Paul tells us that God’s love is the greatest of all His gifts. The other gifts are meaningless unless they are guided by His love expressed through us.
