Womens Ministry

    Dear Ladies,

I thank God for the opportunity to serve Bay Leaf Baptist Church as the Women’s Ministry Director. My desire is to ensure that the women of Bay Leaf feel welcome, loved, valued and cared for, and know they are a vital and important part of our ministry. An essential goal for our ministry is to meet the needs of all the women within the body of Christ. Feel free to contact me on how we can better serve you!

If you have any questions, please contact me at or 919-847-4477 ext 250.

“For this reason I bow my knees before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named, that according to the riches of His glory He may grant you to be strengthened with power through His Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith—that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God” -Ephesians 3:14-19

    Abundant Blessings in Him,
    Darlene Smith
    Women's Ministry Director

2 Corinthians: A Precept Upon Precept Study

        Tuesdays 9:15 – 11:45 A.M.
        September 12 - November 14
        Room E-310
Led by Karen Stuart & Phyllis Adams
        Cost: $23.00

Second Corinthians is a book about ministry, various kinds of ministry. But in the midst of ministry, sometimes Christians are burdened beyond strength, despairing of life, having fears within and conflicts without. How do we cope with those things? This book tells us how to be strong in the Lord when accusations and persecutions are directed toward us, how to have confidence in Him and not lose heart, and even how to correct those who are our accusers.

Ladies will need to pick up their books prior to the first lesson starting on September 12. Books will be available in the church office by the end of August.

    1 & 2 Corinthians: J.O.Y. Bible Study

        Wednesdays 9:30 - 11:30 A.M.
        September 6 - May 2
        Room E-310
Led by Jenn Salisbury & Beverly Choquette
        Cost: $22.00 (1 Corinthians)
                 $16.00 (2 Corinthians)
In the book of 1 Corinthians the apostle Paul addresses issues that arose in the church in Corinth and that arise in our churches today. There was division among the believers rather than unity in Christ. Flagrant and unrepented immorality was tolerated by church members. Many were using the Holy Spirit’s gifts to exalt themselves in-stead of to glorify God. Paul tells us that God’s love is the greatest of all His gifts. The other gifts are meaningless unless they are guided by His love expressed through us.

We will finish 1 Corinthians on February 14 and immediately follow up with 2 Corinthians. Our last class will meet on May 2.

Begins September 6. The fall dates JOY will meet are September 6 to November 15. Spring dates are January 10 - May 2.

I Peter: A Living Hope in Christ by Jen Wilkin

        September 21 - December 7
        Room E-308
Led by Marti May & Laura Graham
        Cost: $13.00

Our inheritance through Christ is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading. In 1 Peter, a man of faith and flaws and eyewitness to the life of Christ challenges us to look beyond our current circumstances to a future inheritance. He shares his concerns on big picture issues for the early church, describes believers' true identity in Christ, and ultimately helps readers discover what it means to experience the Living Hope they have in Christ. Key themes of humility, submission, and identity in Christ guide the study of 1 Peter as participants are challenged to read the book in its entirety each week.

    No childcare is provided.

What is the deep cry of your heart? The ache in your soul that keeps you up at night? The prayer you keep repeating? Jesus not only cares about this deep, spiritual wres-tling, but He also wants to step in and see you through it.

Join Lori Jacumin for L.I.F.E. as we explore the streets of Israel studying Lysa Ter-Keurst’s the seven I AM statements of Jesus found in the Gospel of John.
