WOMEN ON MISSION
The Goal of Women on Mission is to encourage women
to become mission-minded by:
- teaching about missions;
- praying for and giving to missions;
- performing mission activities;
- developing spiritually toward a missions lifestyle;
- participating in the work of the church and denomination.
Women on Missions Circle groups meet monthly to promote missions study, pray for missions and missionaries, participate in mission projects and fellowship with a small “circle” of friends committed to service. All circles are open to women of all ages. Each meeting generally has a guest speaker, a project and prayer time, all lasting on the average, one and a half hours.

Women on Mission Circle Groups would like to thank all of you that joined in to help us with our Build A Doll project for the orphans of Kenya Africa. We completed 197 boy and girl dolls to be handed out to those children that have nothing or very little to call their own. Thank you again and we look forward to working with you when we continue to make these sweet little dolls for Kenya and other mission areas.

MISSION PROJECTS
Toy Chest: The Toy Chest collects donations which are used to create a huge “toy store” open one day only to Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary students (college 9 hours, graduate/master’s 6 hours, and doctoral/Ph.D. in full-time status) with children . The toys are sold for a minimum price, allowing these students to provide Christmas gifts to their children during their years of sacrifice and study. The proceeds are then donated to the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering. Volunteers are needed for set-up and workers for the day of the Toy Chest.
Contact the church office on volunteering opportunities for this event (847-4477).
This year's Toy Chest will be on

Clothes Closet: The Clothes Closet is an opportunity to share with church members and Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary students who are in need. Donations of clean, new or gently-used clothing are processed and sorted by Women on Mission volunteers. These are available to the students and those in need on a monthly basis. Donations may be dropped off at the Clothes Closet located at the top of the chapel stairs. You may call the church office for more information to see how you can help with this ministry.
Operation Christmas Child: In conjunction with Samaritan’s Purse, Operation Christmas Child sends a message of hope to children in desperate situations through gift-filled shoeboxes and Christian literature. This program provides an opportunity for all ages to be involved in a simple, hands-on mission project that reaches out to suffering children while focusing on the true meaning of Christmas – Jesus Christ – God’s greatest gift. Bay Leaf Women on Mission supply the empty shoeboxes to the church family, who return them filled with gifts for the children. This project usually takes place over the summer months. |
