Comfort in Sorrow
Pastor Patrick Austin opens the Advent season with a sermon from Isaiah 40:1-11 titled "Comfort in Sorrow," revealing that the true comfort we seek during Christmas isn't found in nostalgic traditions or material gifts, but only in the person of Christ. Just as God promised comfort to His exiled people, Jesus fulfills this promise as both the incarnate Word who has already come and the Shepherd King who will return to gather His children, offering lasting comfort that saves and soothes our weary souls.
