Awana at Bay Leaf

Midweek Discipleship for Kids

Awana is a midweek ministry that helps children know, love, and follow Jesus. Through age-specific small groups, Bible memory, large group teaching, and high-energy games, kids build strong foundations of faith and friendships that last. Join us Wednesday nights this fall at Bay Leaf!

What is Awana?

Awana is a fun, Scripture-centered discipleship program for preschool and elementary-aged children. The name stands for “Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed” (2 Timothy 2:15), and the goal is to help kids hide God’s Word in their hearts through weekly memory verses, Christ-centered teaching, and meaningful relationships.

Who Can Participate?

Awana age groups include children whose birthdays are on or before August 31, 2025.

  • Cubbies – Preschool (3–5 years old)
  • Sparks – Kindergarten through 2nd Grade
  • T&T (Truth & Training) – 3rd through 5th Grade

When and Where We Meet

Awana meets on Wednesday nights from 6:30–7:45 PM at our Falls Lake Campus (Bay Leaf Baptist Church). It runs during the school year, typically September through the first week of May.

What to Expect Each Week

Each Awana night includes:

  • Large Group Teaching – Biblical lessons that help kids grow in their understanding of God’s Word
  • Small Group Time – Scripture memory, discipleship conversations, and encouragement from leaders
  • Game Time – High-energy games that build teamwork, excitement, and connection
  • Craft Time – Cubbies only

Why Awana Matters

Awana is more than just a midweek activity—it’s an opportunity for children to develop a personal walk with Jesus, form lasting friendships, and hide God’s Word in their hearts. We believe these early years of discipleship lay the foundation for a lifetime of faith.
