Christmas can be an especially full season for families in seminary. For more than 30 years, Bay Leaf Baptist Church has hosted Toy Chest as a practical way to come alongside Southeastern Seminary students and their families.
Toy Chest gives eligible families the opportunity to choose Christmas gifts for their children at a small fraction of the retail cost, while enjoying a morning of food, fellowship, and encouragement from the Bay Leaf church family.
Who Can Participate?
Toy Chest is available to Southeastern Seminary students who are currently:
- Enrolled in at least 3 graduate-level credit hours, or
- Actively completing thesis or doctoral work
Please submit one registration per household when registration opens.
What You'll Find at Toy Chest
Families will have several ways to shop for Christmas gifts:
New Toys
Choose new toys for approximately 10% of retail cost, with a maximum of four toys or $7 in purchases per child.
Bicycles
Bicycles in a variety of sizes will be available for $10 each while supplies last.
The Quarter Aisle
Shop gently-loved toys and other children's items for just 25¢ each.
Premium Item Drawings
Enter drawings for select premium gifts for $10 per entry. Your family must have a child within the appropriate age range for the item you enter to win.
All proceeds from Toy Chest purchases are given to the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering, helping support international missions.
More Than a Shopping Trip
Toy Chest is one small way the Bay Leaf church family gets to encourage families who are preparing to serve Christ through ministry.
Come enjoy breakfast, meet members of our church family, and spend the morning choosing gifts for your children. We hope Toy Chest helps make Christmas a little lighter and reminds you that there are people cheering you on during your time at Southeastern.

Online Registration is Required
Registration opens Thursday, October 1, 2026, at 9:00 AM. The first 25 eligible students to register will also be entered into a drawing for a $100 Walmart gift card. Check back here on October 1 to register your family for Toy Chest.
