Exodus 20:12

Honor Your Father and Mother

Exodus 20:12 calls us to consider how honoring father and mother reflects a heart shaped by God’s design and His goodness. This Sunday, Pastor Jared Richard will lead us in God’s Word as we continue looking at the Ten Commandments and what they teach us about loving the Lord and walking faithfully with others. Take time this weekend to read the passage and let it guide your heart as we prepare to gather. Listening to the songs ahead of time can also help turn your attention toward Christ and the joy of worshiping together.

Lyrics

When I am anxious
When I am afraid
I take it to God
I call on His Name

If the mover of mountains
Is listening to me
Why should I worry?
Why should I fear anything?

For I know the plans He has for me
Yes, I know the plans He has for me
For my good
To give me a hope and a future

When I am waiting
For His promise to come
Sometimes He is silent
But I'm never alone

He walks in the valley
He quiets the storm
He stands in the fire
So why should I fear anymore

For I know the plans He has for me
Yes, I know the plans He has for me
For my good
To give me a hope and a future

For I know the plans He has for me
Yes, I know He's working everything
For my good
To give me a hope and a future

All my life
All I've seen
Your endless love
Surrounding me
With every breath
I will be found by You

If I set sail
Or spread my wings
And find myself
On the farthest sea
You're waiting there
I will be found by You
I will be found by You

For I know the plans He has for me
Yes, I know the plans He has for me
For my good
To give me a hope and a future

For I know the plans He has for me
Yes, I know He's working everything
For my good
To give me a hope and a future

Lyrics

Who am I that the highest King would welcome me?
I was lost, but He brought me in
Oh His love for me
Oh His love for me

Who the Son sets free
Oh, is free indeed
I'm a child of God, yes, I am

Free at last, He has ransomed me
His grace runs deep
While I was a slave to sin, Jesus died for me
Yes, He died for me

Who the Son sets free
Oh is free indeed
I'm a child of God, yes, I am
In my Father's house
There's a place for me
I'm a child of God, yes, I am

I am chosen, not forsaken
I am who You say I am
You are for me, not against me
I am who You say I am

I am chosen, not forsaken
I am who You say I am
You are for me, not against me
I am who You say I am
I am who You say I am

Who the Son sets free
Oh is free indeed
I'm a child of God, yes, I am
In my Father's house
There's a place for me
I'm a child of God, yes, I am

In my Father's house
There's a place for me
I'm a child of God, yes, I am

Lyrics

All the saints and angels
They bow before Your throne
All the elders cast their crowns
Before the Lamb of God and sing

You are worthy of it all
You are worthy of it all
For from You are all things
And to You are all things
You deserve the glory

Be exalted now in the heavens
As Your glory fills this place
You alone deserve our praise
You're the name above all names
Be exalted now in the heavens
As Your glory fills this place
You alone deserve our praise
You're the name above all names

You are worthy of it all
You are worthy of it all
For from You are all things
And to You are all things
You deserve the glory
You are worthy of it all
You are worthy of it all
For from You are all things
And to You are all things
You deserve the glory

Worthy is Your name, Jesus
You deserve the praise
Worthy is Your name
Worthy is Your name, Jesus
You deserve the praise
Worthy is Your name
Worthy is Your name, Jesus
You deserve the praise
Worthy is Your name

Day and night, night and day let incense arise
Day and night, night and day let incense arise

Lyrics

How deep the Father’s love for us,
How vast beyond all measure,
That He should give His only Son
To make a wretch His treasure.
How great the pain of searing loss –
The Father turns His face away,
As wounds which mar the Chosen One
Bring many sons to glory.

Behold the man upon a cross,
My sin upon His shoulders;
Ashamed, I hear my mocking voice
Call out among the scoffers.
It was my sin that held Him there
Until it was accomplished;
His dying breath has brought me life –
I know that it is finished.

I will not boast in anything,
No gifts, no power, no wisdom;
But I will boast in Jesus Christ,
His death and resurrection.
Why should I gain from His reward?
I cannot give an answer;
But this I know with all my heart –
His wounds have paid my ransom.
