Men's Conference: Put on Jesus
Session Recordings
At Bay Leaf Baptist Church in Raleigh, NC, our Men’s Conference focused on one clear call from Scripture: “Put on the Lord Jesus Christ” (Romans 13:14). These recordings capture the main sessions and breakout teachings designed to help men pursue holiness, maturity, and Christlike character in everyday life.
In the main sessions, Dr. Scott Pace walks through Romans 13 and Colossians 3, challenging men to decisively put to death sinful passions, put off destructive patterns, and put on the character of Christ. This is not about external behavior change or religious performance. It is about genuine transformation that flows from belonging to Jesus. As believers clothed in Christ, we are called to live differently, with humility, love, peace, and gratitude shaping every word and action.
The breakout sessions provide practical application for real-life struggles. Topics include biblical contentment, gentleness as strength under God’s authority, sober-minded living in a distracted culture, and pursuing sexual purity through heart-level transformation and accountability. Each message is rooted in Scripture and designed to help men grow in spiritual discipline, relational integrity, and gospel confidence.
Whether you attended the conference or are listening for the first time, our prayer is that these teachings will strengthen your faith, deepen your obedience, and encourage you to walk closely with Christ.
Main Sessions with Dr. Scott Pace
Biblical teaching from Romans 13 and Colossians 3 calling men to put off the old self, put on Christ, and walk in lasting transformation.
Put Sin to Death (Session 1)
Dr. Scott Pace challenged the men at Bay Leaf Baptist Church to examine their lives and "put on the Lord Jesus Christ" as commanded in Romans 13:14, emphasizing that this isn't about putting on a Christian costume but genuine transformation. Using Colossians 3:5-11, he called them to decisively "put to death" sinful passions like sexual immorality and covetousness, "put off" sinful practices like anger and slander, and "put down" sinful pride, comparing it to taking off dirty, sweaty clothes after yard work before putting on clean ones.
Put on Christ (Session 2)
Dr. Scott Pace preached on Colossians 3:12-17 about "putting on" Christ like clothing that's appropriate for every occasion and season. He explained that just as we dress appropriately for different events, Christians must clothe themselves daily in Christ-like characteristics including compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience, with love binding everything together in perfect harmony.
